Regular price $128.00
May the wabi sabi shrimp man bring you luck in achieving all you desire. A rustic Japanese ceramic vase, hand-thrown and hand-lettered with two brushed phrases: “わたしのねがい” (my wish) and “天までとどけ” (may it reach the heavens). The glaze breaks over a sandy, unglazed foot, and a single blue stroke runs like water down one side. Found at a funky ceramics studio in Tokyo. Perfect for a stand-out stem or two.

An unsigned studio (yunomi-style) vase in the Japanese folk-pottery tradition, where the marriage of calligraphy and wabi-sabi glaze has been prized for centuries. Pieces like this are made one at a time and meant to be admired daily, growing more beautiful with use.

Estimated era: late 20th century studio pottery (likely 1970s–1990s), read from the softened glaze, worn foot, and patinated unglazed clay.

Patina note: One of one. Carrying the soft patina that only time can give; significant flaws are always detailed above.
