Vintage 70s Brass Banded Carnelian Cabochon Belt Buckle

A buckle that wants to be the whole outfit; antiqued brass scrolled like wrought iron around a banded carnelian cabochon the colour of a low sun. Western at heart, a little baroque, anything but plain.

Vintage artisan cast brass with a hook-and-bar reverse; cabochon shows natural warm banding.

Estimated era: 1970s - 1980s, in the Southwestern/boho idiom of that moment. Roughly 40 to 50 years old, read from the casting style, the hardware and the stone setting.

Dimensions: 3.5” x 2.5”. Purchased in Tokyo.
