"Borgonuovo 21" tag refers to Armani's headquarters at 21 Via Borgonuovo in Milan, used specifically on the Giorgio Armani "Black Label" line. It was used across roughly the late 1970s through the 1990s, since GFT began manufacturing Armani's Black Label starting in 1978. Black Label is Armani's top-tier vintage line (his true couture-adjacent designation before Armani Privé existed).

A moody layered gown from Giorgio Armani, built with 1990s ease but cut in the spirit of 1950s eveningwear. The bodice holds its shape while the skirt moves freely beneath it, layered in sheer, chiffon panels that drift and catch air with movement. Full, puffed sleeves in the same transparent fabric add drama at the arm, and a front zipper lets the neckline close high or fall open for a more relaxed line.

Giorgio Armani founded his house in Milan in 1975. Within a decade, he had reshaped both eveningwear and tailoring, trading structure and ornament for a softer, deconstructed approach to formal dress. This gown carries that shift directly: refined, adaptable, dramatic without a single embellishment. Would be almost impossible to come across this dress again. A real collector's piece.

Sourced from a private collector of vintage designer in Berlin.

Era: late Likely 90s, possibly 80s.

Size: Would best fit a US 4/6

Model is a size 4 (S/M), 5'11", 26" waist, 38.5" hips

Carrying the soft patina that only time can give; significant flaws are always detailed above.
